Knowing that I do not have to prepare a meal
“It’s such a relief to have the house clean and a meal ready when we come home from a day travelling up to Crumlin. We are up at 4 am and can be home any time from 3 pm to 7 pm, and so tired. My daughter is on steroids after our trip to Crumlin and almost immediately starts craving all kinds of food and then does not want them so I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and the days beforehand stocking up on food that she might crave. She is also quite sore over these few days and will spend a lot of time resting and wanting to be cuddled, which makes it hard to get to the kitchen, shops and look after the other children in the family. Knowing that I do not have to prepare a meal for the rest of the family on this day is a great help to me.”
I asked myself why did I not accept help before this….
“I asked myself why did I not accept help before this, I should have done it from the beginning, it would have made life so much easier for the whole family.”
I could not believe that I was in my own house
“I don’t know when my eldest son’s room was last cleaned. I just don’t get up there. I spend a lot of time in the local hospital because my little boy has temperatures and needs his bloods taken every week. My son’s room has to be cleaned from top to bottom weekly as his immune system is so low.”
Not my house
“When we came home from the hospital last week after the cleaner had been in, I could not believe that I was in my own house, it was clean everywhere, each and every room, oh glory days.”
It would have made life so much easier
“The whole family loved the fresh homely organic meal. It was so great to be able to sit down and enjoy it with them. Normally when my son is ill the other children unfortunately get frozen food for days. That’s not what I want for my children but I can’t do it all. I asked myself why did I not accept help before this, I should have done it from the beginning, it would have made life so much easier for the whole family.”
