We are excited to announce the launch of our latest project – The Room Makeover Project. With this new initiative we aim to brighten the lives of children living with Cancer by creating a beautiful and inspired room for them to rest, recuperate, learn and play.

We started off the project with a playroom makeover for Grace Kenneally, who has Neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. We transformed her cluttered playroom into a pink and purple girly paradise which she has dubbed “Fairyland”. The room was painted in her favourite colours – pink and purple – and has rainbows, castles and princesses on the walls. We created a “chill out” area complete with a bean bag and princess curtain, a homework area with a laptop donated by SAP Galway and a TV corner.  The bookshelf was also transformed, painted purple with flowers and stacked with Grace’s favourite books and photos. Grace absolutely loved her room and we know that she will have many happy days playing in it and feeling like a princess!

Thank you so much to all of the volunteers who helped transform the room and to St Mary’s National School in Arva Co. Cavan whose Bring and Buy Sale sponsored the project. Materials for the room were supplied by Crown Decorating Centre, Blind Design Galway, McDonagh’s Trade Centre, Montana Furniture, Dublin, O’Hara’s Carpets, Swinford and Dunnes Stores. SAP Galway donated the laptop. A big thanks to all of our suppliers who helped make Grace’s room spectacular.
